Global Skills X-Change (GSX) has earned the 2022 gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award! U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized GSX as one of the 836 recipients of the 2022 award by the U.S. Department of Labor who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that each of them have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who commit to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.
“Veterans account for ~30% of the GSX workforce, which is roughly a 7% increase from the previous year, said Dave Wilcox, President & CEO of Global Skills X-Change. “As a veteran myself, I recognize how critical it is to understand the challenges of transitioning to the private sector.”
Recipients meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018 and, as a veteran-owned small business, GSX is proud be among them.
