GSX Partners with Catawba County to Advance Success Coach Service Program

Collaboration with The Duke Endowment to drive advancements in support services for families and children post-foster care.

Global Skills X-Change (GSX), a veteran-owned leader in workforce development and credentialing solutions, is proud to partner with Catawba County Social Services in North Carolina to evaluate and advance the Success Coach Service program. Funded by The Duke Endowment from the very beginning, this initiative focuses on evaluating the program’s infrastructure and exploring opportunities for advancement in areas such as training curriculum development, assessments, formal mentorship, credentialing solutions, marketing and communications support, and program management, ensuring long-term support for families and children post-foster care.

Success Coach Service

The Success Coach Service is a voluntary support program that promotes stability and resilience for children in foster care through reunification, adoption, guardianship, or legal custody. By offering tailored support from a dedicated Success Coach, the program helps families create safe, nurturing environments for their children and ensures long-term success in areas such as family self-sufficiency and child well-being. Due to the effectiveness of the Success Coach Service, six replication programs have been adopted by private agencies across three states. The Success Coach Service is in the process of further expansion, reaching all counties in North Carolina and supporting more replication programs throughout the country.

“We are honored to collaborate with Catawba County Social Services on this important initiative,” said Dave Wilcox, President & CEO at GSX. “The Success Coach Service provides critical resources for families, and this partnership will enable us to bring innovative solutions that strengthen family resilience and support children’s success after leaving foster care.”

The Duke Endowment, which has supported communities in North Carolina and South Carolina since 1924, is funding the partnership as it aligns with their mission to nurture children and strengthen communities.

“We are excited to work alongside GSX and Catawba County Social Services to enhance the Success Coach Service program,” said Phil Redmond, Director of Child and Family Well-Being at The Duke Endowment. “We look forward to supporting their efforts to help keep reunified and adopted children from experiencing repeat maltreatment and re-entering foster care. By working together, we can drive positive outcomes for families in the Carolinas.”

Catawba County Social Services, with its mission to strengthen the quality of life for all its citizens, is equally enthusiastic about the partnership. They believe that this work will provide great value to the program’s efficacy and fidelity as it undergoes further expansion.

“By teaming up with GSX and with the support from The Duke Endowment, we can enhance the Success Coach Service to deliver even greater support to families and children,” said Chrissy Triplett, Program Manager at Catawba County Social Services. “Our mission is to strengthen the community with dignity and respect, and this partnership will allow us to deliver even better support to the families and children we serve. We look forward to implementing new strategies and leveraging GSX’s expertise to create meaningful outcomes.”

Key Benefits of Collaboration:

  • Enhanced Program Infrastructure: Comprehensive evaluation and potential development of new training curriculum, assessments, and credentialing solutions to ensure program excellence.
  • Expanded Outreach and Engagement: By enhancing marketing and communications efforts, the program will raise awareness and reach more families who can benefit from its services, ensuring greater community impact.
  • Improved Outcomes for Families: By addressing child behavior, mental health, parenting skills, and educational support, the Success Coach Service will better equip families with the tools they need to succeed.

As GSX works with Catawba County to assess and advance the Success Coach Service, our combined expertise and resources promise to make meaningful advancements in family resilience and child development in North Carolina.
