Marisa Peyton
PROJECT MANAGER

Marisa is part of the program management team at GSX that is responsible for managing federal government and private industry workforce programs. She is currently assigned to several federal government contracts ensuring all contract requirements are met by maintaining security compliance, submitting deliverables, and meeting project scope and budget. She develops professional relationships with her clients to understand their goals and determine strategies with the technical teams to support the clients’ goals. Marisa oversees contract task progress, provides day-to-day contact clients on the status of projects, risks, and changes. She also works with internal staff to identify project resourcing needs for the contracts in which she is assigned.

As part of her core responsibilities, Marisa coordinates with project teams to ensure that certification project activities, timelines, and deliverables are on track and accomplished in a timely manner and based on high quality standards.  She also manages contract tasks, conducts quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on all deliverables prior to submission, and coordinates the completion and delivery of project deliverables.

Marisa has had a very broad and exciting experience at GSX since joining the organization. In 2016, Marisa began as an Analyst where she provided support to the development, execution, and maintenance of certification programs. She also managed certification assessment item banking tools and the publication of pilot and production assessments. In 2017, Marisa was promoted to Project Coordinator and assumed the responsibilities of developing and updating project plans to support project management staff and coordinating directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) and clients about project tasks. She also authored standard operating procedures for corporate and client use that standardized test delivery processes which included item banking, item publication and republication, and assessment maintenance. Marisa received a promotion in 2021 to Senior Project Execution Lead which came with a number of new responsibilities. In this new role, she managed professional relationships with commercial vendors, provided oversight of day-to-day operations of infrastructure tools supporting certification programs, supported the program management office for two, high-stakes Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) certification programs, and served as the primary contact for certification candidates, components, and stakeholders regarding program requirements.

Marisa holds her bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies (psychology and sociology) from Stony Brook University and achieved the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (I.C.E.) Credentialing Specialist certification.
