Crystal Huertas-Baker, Ph.D.
Director, Project Delivery

As a seasoned leader in industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology, Crystal brings extensive knowledge and experience in consulting across the federal government with a passion for insider threat, organizational development, process improvement, and talent acquisitions to her role at GSX. As a project delivery director, Crystal oversees multiple project lifecycles to ensure projects are progressing and completed on time, to client specifications, and within budget. She delivers expert advice and counsel to stakeholders regarding technical/psychometric topics and tasks. Furthermore, she provides strategic thinking and support and proposes client solutions with detailed action plans. Crystal also supports GSX’s business growth through opportunity identification, proposal development, and reviews.

As part of her core responsibilities, Crystal serves as a face of GSX and forges relationships with clients to understand their current and future needs. She manages the development of surveys for clients and oversees data analysis on assessments and surveys. She also identifies strategic opportunities to support, improve, and grow customer/client relationships.

Before joining GSX, Crystal was a senior consultant to one of the Big 4 management consulting firms in the world where she specialized in human capital and pre-hire assessments. She also worked as a security professional with the U.S. Air Force at their Headquarters Office in the Pentagon.

Crystal is a U.S. Air Force veteran. During her time in the military, she served as a Security Forces professional performing law enforcement, investigations, and air base security.

Crystal has been working in the security and intelligence community for the better part of the last decade and has extensive experience and knowledge within the insider threat specialty. Her dissertation “Exploring the Impact of Organizational Influences on Insider Threat Behaviors: A Convergent Parallel Mixed-Methods Study” used an industrial and organizational psychology (I-O) lens to evaluate insider threat behaviors.

Crystal holds her Ph.D. in industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology from Northcentral University, a master’s in I-O psychology from Argosy University, and a B.S. in criminal justice and forensic psychology from Purdue University Global. She also earned certifications for Lean Six Sigma-Black Belt, Security Fundamental Professional, Security Asset Protection, Physical Security, and ADDIE.
