Alex provides technical support for development programs and certification assessments and programs as part of government, commercial, and education client teams.
Preceding GSX, Alex spent four years working on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) assessments and surveys as a researcher where he performed data collection, analysis, and report-writing among other duties. At the Army Research Institute’s (ARI) Selection and Assignment Research Unit (SARU), his main focus was on cutting-edge, “Multidimensional Forced Choice” personality assessment that uses its format and Item Response Theory (IRT) to mitigate socially desirable responding and improve validity. Alex also worked in the private sector while performing research duties across several DoD surveys assessing gender relations in the military.
Alex earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees – both in Industrial/Organizational Psychology – at George Mason University. He also completed a minor in business at George Mason and holds a certificate in Business Mnaagement: Information Technology from Northern Virginia Community College.
SOME X-FACTS ABOUT ALEX
- Alex was born in London and had a British accent until he lost it at the age of three after his family moved back to the U.S.
- He has been lucky enough to attend both the 2010 and 2014 World Cups in South Africa and Brazil.
- He has played guitar since 5th grade and is now learning the Dobro resonator guitar to pick n’ grin some bluegrass.
