With an extensive background in the Department of Defense (DoD) and military-connected communities, Destinee supports clients through the implementation and maintenance of certification programs. She is a veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a Medical Service Corps/Healthcare Administrative Officer. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology from Capella University with a focus on psychological coaching and consulting. While pursuing her doctorate degree, Destinee studied veteran transition and her dissertation focused on the Post 9/11 Female Veteran Transition from the military to civilian workforce.
Prior to joining GSX, Destinee served as a Senior Program Analyst and Program Manager at the Department of State, Bureau of Medical Services, where she assisted in the growth and development of onsite contractor support and supervised a team of over 150 key personnel.
Before her time at the Department of State, Destinee’s focus was on the veteran and service member transition space. Specifically, she served in several impactful positions – Career Counselor for the Army’s Transition Program (SFL-TAP); Site Lead/VA Benefits Advisor for the Transition Assistance Program (VA-TAP); and a cadre/staff for the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) on Fort Belvoir as the Transition Coordinator while assisting wounded warriors and their family members in finding internships and employment.
Destinee is a Certified Veteran Developmental Coach (CVDC) specializing in career and life mapping. She is heavily involved in the nonprofit community and is the President and Co-Founder of We2AreVets, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which focuses on the empowerment, recognition, and inclusion of women veterans. She is also the Society of I/O Psychology (SIOP) Subcommittee Chair for Member Engagement for the Military and Veterans Task Force.
SOME X-FACTS ABOUT DESTINEE
- In her free time, Destinee enjoys taking pure barre classes, crocheting, reading and coaching/mentoring.
- Destinee is a military spouse and a mom to three little boys – Aiden and Landon, twins, 9 years old, and Ethan, 8 years old.
- Destinee’s husband, Ryan, is also pursuing his doctorate degree and the two of them enjoy ‘schooling’ one another on their fields of study. His is in Business with a focus on strategy and innovation.
